Often the waves in the printers for Z are not straight (concentricity) and so the so-called "Z-wobble" occurs. Unsightly grooves in the component. The shaft is not always to blame for this print image, but it is a source of error that can be easily eliminated with flexible couplings. Due to the "winding" introduced, the coupling is less stiff than the conventional Z-couplings and can thus compensate for the out-of-round running of the threaded spindle.
